The club is a seven-minute walk from Shinbashi Station on the JR Line.

The elegant newcomer to Tokyo’s jazz scene, No Bird is a club where fanciness makes you feel at home. Service is warm and the food and wine are superb. Few jazz venues, if any, have this level of quality and attention to detail without overdoing it.

That includes the music. The sound system is excellent and the interior well designed to hear the music. Jazz aficionados and hi-fi enthusiasts will welcome the fine acoustics. High quality sound makes the great musicians’ playing all the better.

The selection of musicians is eclectic, with unique vocals, straight-ahead bop, a dash of funk, modern jazz and everything in between, depending on the night. That means on any one night, the jazz could be to your taste, or different from what you expected, but will be high level and satisfying.

Those more interested in atmosphere can sit back safely in the hands of a well-run, sleek club that takes care of customers and gives honor to the music at the same time. That balanced approach to a jazz club is perhaps rarer than one might imagine, but No Bird does it naturally.
